Stari Most.
The Old Bridge (Stari Most) in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, built in 1566 under Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, is an Ottoman masterpiece by architect Mimar Hayruddin. Spanning the Neretva River, its iconic limestone arch linked diverse communities for 427 years. Despite surviving floods and wars, it was destroyed in 1993 during the Bosnian War. Rebuilt with global support using original stones and 16th-century methods, it reopened in 2004. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005, Stari Most symbolizes resilience, reconciliation, and cultural unity, with its bridge-diving tradition enduring.
